Design Day - 5th March 2010 (Susie Stirling)

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar's Planning Service Host Design Day Read More

The Design Day was held in the Bridge Centre, Stornoway. Susie Stirling, Principal Planner of The Scottish Government Planning Division speaks here. The exciting event focused on the design of new houses in the Outer Hebrides. The Planning Service hosted the design event and are working with a number of partners including the Scottish Government and kit manufacturers, Scotframe to design a "house for the Outer Hebrides". The idea behind the design day was to engage with local builders, architects and designers and give them the opportunity to have an input into the project at this early stage. The outcome of the project is hoped to be a house kit, which represents value for money, modern living and sustainable homes which compliment the surroundings and unique environment of the Outer Hebrides.
